I had just gotten home from a summer of dancing with Nashville Ballet, and had a few weeks off before heading back to the Joffrey Ballet in New York City. My body had begun deteriorating much more rapidly at that point, and I knew my ballet career was coming to an end. In preparation for my transition into life after dance, I had gotten my first tattoo: an eagle’s wing on my left foot.
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
